#1 New York Times bestselling author Kendare Blake returns with the highly anticipated third book in the Three Dark Crowns series! Two Dark Reigns by Kendare Blake was released on September 4, 2018, following up Three Dark Crowns (September 20, 2016) and One Dark Throne (September 19, 2017). This third installment promises intrigue, betrayal, and blood – though this is not unexpected from this series!
Queen Katharine has waited her entire life to wear the crown. But now that she finally has it, the murmurs of dissent grow louder by the day. There’s also the alarming issue of whether or not her sisters are actually dead—or if they’re waiting in the wings to usurp the throne. Mirabella and Arsinoe are alive, but in hiding on the mainland and dealing with a nightmare of their own: being visited repeatedly by a specter they think might be the fabled Blue Queen. Though she says nothing, her rotting, bony finger pointing out to sea is clear enough: return to Fennbirn. Jules, too, is in a strange place—in disguise. And her only confidants, a war-gifted girl named Emilia and her oracle friend Mathilde, are urging her to take on a role she can’t imagine filling: a legion-cursed queen who will lead a rebel army to Katharine’s doorstep. This is an uprising that the mysterious Blue Queen may have more to do with than anyone could have guessed—or expected.

One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake was released in North America on September 19, 2017. In this enthralling sequel to Kendare Blake’s New York Times Bestselling Three Dark Crowns, Fennbirn’s deadliest queens must face the one thing standing in their way of the throne: each other.
The battle for the crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail? With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before. Arsinoe, after discovering the truth about her powers, must figure out how to make her secret talent work in her favor without anyone finding out. And Mirabella, once thought to be the strongest sister of all and the certain Queen Crowned, faces attacks like never before— ones that put those around her in danger she can’t seem to prevent.

Until my school term concludes in exactly one week, I have made the executive decision that I am simply to busy with final papers to produce any quality book reviews.
I am, however, still regularly posting to my Bookstagram account @onepageatatimebooks. You can find a sneak peak of some of my most recent photos below!
The Bookstagram Community (which is essentially just a collective of book lovers on Instagram who share their love of books through photos) is a great way to find new books, rediscover old books and connect with like-minded book lovers – so be sure to check it out!
It’s that time of month again (a.k.a. the start of the month) which means another book list, and another pile of books to add to my never ending TBR pile! I’m slowly falling behind on my TBR’s as school consumes more and more of my life (if I’m being honest, I’m spending most of my time reading textbooks nowadays!), but reading, writing and photo taking remain fun hobbies of mine. Basically, writing this is my break from the daily grind!
If you missed my October Reads, be sure to check out my Instagram page (@onepageatatimebooks) or visit my Book Reviews page to see a summary of my most recent posts!

As one of the most anticipated YA releases of the year, I felt that I could hardly afford to miss out on what was sure to be a fantastic read in Three Dark Crowns.
In every generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions. But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

It’s once again that time of month (being the first of a new month, of course), so it’s time for another booklist! I did pretty well on my September booklist (surprisingly), although my blog posting has dropped off (sadly), as work, school and tutoring slowly consume my life.
Throughout October I’m hoping to stick to a posting schedule of “Mini Monday” posts (these posts will have minimum to no spoilers, and be about 500 words long) and Thursday posts, which will be about 1200-1500 words, and have a spoiler free section to start off, but a more in depth, spoiler-loaded section at the end for those who have read the book and are looking for discussion!
And as always, you can keep up to date with my latest and upcoming blog posts by following me on Instagram (@onepageatatimebooks)
Now, onto my To Be Read List for October (personally, I’ve read a couple of these, so I would highly recommend them! *Indicates books I have not read yet.):
