A few Sundays ago, I had the privilege – and pleasure – of attending the Harper Collins Canada #FrenzyPresents Fall Preview event in Toronto, Ontario. This is only the second time I have been able to attend, but as with my first event, this HCC #FrenzyPresents event was a blast! Not only did I get an in-depth preview of so many fantastic upcoming YA releases, but I also had the chance to meet several of my fellow Canadian Book Bloggers, which was simply heartwarming. Truly, my heart is so full.
HCC Frenzy also gifted all the attendees a fantastic Swag Bag, which was put together in partnership with Indigo Books & Music Inc., Owlcrate, David’s Tea, Ink and Wonder Designs, Epic Reads, and EcoJot. Honestly, this Swag Bag was loaded to the brim with goodies, including 3 Advance Review Copies, including: tea samples and a free tea coupon (David’s Tea), an adorable mini notebook (EcoJot), a beautiful woodmark (Ink and Wonder Designs), and much more!
I also received 3 ARCs in my Swag Bag – Kingdom of Souls by Rena Barron (Release Date: September 3, 2019), A Treason of Thorns by Laura E Weymouth (Release Date: September 10, 2019), and Verify by Joelle Charbonneau (Release Date: September 24, 2019). Bloggers who attended the Harper Collins Canada #FrenzyPresents Fall Preview also had the opportunity to listen to Jasmin Kaur speak about her upcoming book release, When You Ask Me Where I’m Going (Release Date: October 1, 2019). Jasmin Kaur also shared powerful insight into her lived experiences, and the importance of diverse representation in literature. I was lucky enough to also have Jasmin sign my ARC of When You Ask Me Where I’m Going, and to talk to her about her teaching experiences!
Finally, a word to all my fellow bloggers (Canadian or not) – when I started this blog (and by extension my Bookstagram and Bookish Twitter accounts), I truly had no idea where this journey would take me. Because even though I didn’t realize it at the time, I had found my thing, and I had found my people. This community has grown to mean the world to me, and meeting so many of my fellow Canadian Book Bloggers at the #FrenzyPresents event yesterday was like a dream. I am still floating on a high – because I simply cannot believe where this journey has taken me, and can’t wait to see where it will take me next.
This is all so magical, I’m so happy and excited for you! As a Canadian YA book blogger as well, first of all, hi hello I love finding new Canadian friends on here ❤ Second, I was wondering if you could share where you found out about these events in the area as I would absolutely love to be able to attend and meet more people in the community in person!
